Paris 2024 picks up 'Best Sporting Event' Award

Paris 2024 wrapped up nearly three months ago, with over 10,000 athletes competing for gold. SNTV crews were on the ground during the build up to the sporting event of the year and throughout the entire Games, delivering the latest breaking news, athlete profiles, press conferences and exclusive interviews

This year's Games earned widespread acclaim, including the prestigious Major Events International award for Best Sporting Event of 2024, presented in Manchester and accepted by Games Director of Impact and Legacy, Marie Barsacq.

"Well, of course, I'm very happy to receive that award in the name of Paris 2024. For us, it's a recognition of all the work we've done, fantastic developments for ten years, because we were bidding ten years ago. And of course, it's a victory of lots of people because you can't organise such an event alone. So behind the ORCOG, there is also lots of stakeholders like the government, the city, but also the volunteers and the public because they made the Games magical."

Barsacq is a strong believer in 'the power of sport', and she highlights a major positive that is being felt throughout France. "Perhaps the most potent legace is the 30 minutes of daily physical activity at school for the kids. This measure has been experimented in 10,000 schools in France before being generalised in all schools."
